Dora Dee Leach died of diphtheria at a young age of three. She was my mom's little sister, but died before my mom was born. There are very few pictures in Leach family so unfortunately I know of only one of her and it is in a group of sisters and a cousin. I will try and post it soon. They said she was a beautiful child with lots of curly blond hair.

Toward the end of my mom's life she was laying on the coach resting she dozed off a lot, but she suddenly woke up and looked across the room, then she asked me who the little girl was with the blond curls. She describe a child who sound much like Dora. I was a bit shaken at the time not sure what to make of it, but I went along with my her and said I'm not sure. She saw her several times that afternoon. The more I thought about it I'm sure she was having a visit with her baby sister.

Dora's grave was unmarked for many years the family was too poor to buy one at the time and moved off from the area. At one of first family reunions it was discussed and decided to buy a marker for Dora. We collected the money and the marker was placed. One of my mom's wishes on her Bucket List she called it was to visit Dora's grave. We did that in 2010. A fun trip just my sisters and our mom. I will always treasure that visit to Dora's grave site.
